    LAUCHING & EXHIBITION

Fashion entrepreneur Abdusalam Lukman, popularly known as Embroidery Chief, has called for embroidery and digital garment design to be integrated into Nigeria’s youth employment strategy. Speaking at the launch of a large-scale embroidery warehouse in Abuja, he emphasized the need for practical, technology-driven skills as a faster and more sustainable solution to rising youth unemployment. The newly unveiled facility is set to train and empower over 1,000 young people in modern embroidery and digital design, equipping them for immediate employment or entrepreneurship. Lukman highlighted embroidery as a labour-intensive, tech-enabled industry with strong ties to Nigeria’s growing fashion and creative sector, urging government support through structured training, certification, and improved access to industrial equipment. The initiative combines free skills acquisition for machine owners with a structured monthly training intake and a growing digital network connecting designers to fashion businesses nationwide. With backing from industry stakeholders and public figures, the project aims to reduce import dependence, conserve foreign exchange, and position Nigeria as a regional hub for embroidery production while driving job creation and economic growth.
